Assalamu’alaikum…
Hello!
I’m Hasanah Wihandar from XI IPA 1.
As we all know, Ramadan is a month full of blessings. People are all excited that Ramadan came. I am excited, too. Also, I was thrilled to find out that I had the opportunity to be a speaker at the “Ramadhan in ASEAN” event, representing our school, SMA IT Al-Madinah.
“Ramadhan in ASEAN” is an event for all students in ASEAN to present their Ramadan story or tradition in their country, life, or school. I was presenting my Ramadan experience at our school.
In the presentation, I explained how diverse and fun Ramadan events are at our school. Starting from pre-Ramadan events to events on the day of Ramadan.
I told them that before the month of Ramadan started, our school held an event to welcome the month of Ramadan, also known as Tarhib Ramadan. This event is held for 2 days, starting from Thursday, March 31st, 2022 to Friday, April 1st, 2022.
There was an outbound activity with the theme of Team Building. After that, we had an event called “Cucurak”. It’s a Sundanese tradition of eating together before the month of Ramadan. Our school also held a “Khatmil Qur’an”. And then, to prepare for the month of Ramadan, after Khatmil Qur’an, we continued by listening to an Islamic Lecture given by one of our teachers. I told them that we were given a Ramadan Journal as an encouragement to worship Allah, especially in this holy month of Ramadan.
The events our school had in the month of Ramadan were no less exciting. It’s called “Pesantren Ramadhan”. It was held for 5 days. Starting from Monday, April 18th, 2022 to Friday, April 22nd, 2022.
At the “Pesantren Ramadhan”, there are activities such as Islamic Lectures, Competitions, Takjil on the Road, Having Iftar Together, Habituation of Worship, and Ramadan Hampers. Worship habits include Tadarus Al-Qur’an and Dhuha Prayers.
The materials of the Islamic Lectures are also interesting, such as “Jangan Ghosting Ramadhanmu” or “Don’t Ghost Your Ramadan” in English, how to manage corpses, and how to do a Tasbih Prayer.
There are individual and group competitions. The individual competitions were 1st Rank and Tahfidz Competition. While the group competitions were making Eid Greeting Cards and parcels. We were also asked to make biographies of Islamic figures per group.
Alhamdulillah, I am truly grateful that I was given this opportunity. Getting to meet people from other countries was fun! They also introduce their Ramadan tradition. I learned a lot. It’s a new experience for me.
Thank you to my school for giving me this opportunity. Thank you to my family and friends who have prayed the best for me as well.
Wassalamu’alaikum!
